Needle felt a flexible Hare
One of the most challenging techniques to master in needle felting is the armature - the wire ‘skeleton’ used for figures that require flexibility, extra structural support, or greater realism, particularly if the subject has thin limbs, a long tail or a wiry body shape. Indeed, the most frequent request we've had is to create an armature class, and what better way to learn this technique than by felting the felter's favourite subject - the hare.
This class will look at different materials that can be used, how to plan and prepare a correctly proportioned armature, techniques and practical examples, and will result in creating a serene and rustic brown hare for you to treasure.
Flippity Felts workshops are suitable for absolute beginners; however, as the focus of this class will be on an advanced technique some needle felting experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
This class is a must for anyone wishing to learn this vital felting technique, and is not run very often, so book early to avoid disappointment. All materials will be provided.
Please feel free to bring a lunch or we can recommend several options nearby.
