In this workshop we will demystify this knitting technique and show you how amazingly simple it can be! Using a beautiful self-striping yarn, we'll cast on and use entrelac techniques to begin a headband. Or if a headband isn't your style, we can show you how to make your rectangle into something that suits.

To be successful, you should be able to confidently cast on, knit & purl.

All materials are included in this workshop including a tea/coffee & cookie break. Since you won't finish this project on the day, you will need to purchase or bring your own 5.0 mm, 20 cm double pointed needles.

This workshop is led by Debbie Judd

Intriguing and challenging technique

I took this workshop to challenge myself. I have done several workshops at Wool on the Exe over the last year and have loved every one of them. I have grown in confidence enormously. I would never have thought it possible that I could master the art of entrelac knitting. Debbie was very patient and explained everything carefully. She had time for everyone on the course and was more than happy to rectify mistakes! I always feel as though I have achieved something at the end of every course I have attended and am now being asked to make items for other people who have seen the things I have made. I thoroughly recommend these courses to anyone who feels they would never be able to do it. Trust me, you will!

Janet, thank you so much for your kind words! Nothing makes us happier than to see someone flourish - and you surely have!

A great way to spend an afternoon

A very interesting workshop where we were guided step by step through the seemingly complex instructions to start making an entrelac headband (or cowl for some participants). Debbie soon demystified the technique. With the added bonus that I also learnt how to knit an i-tube!

It was a great atmosphere and everyone had a good time. Lovely cookies, too!

Thank you for leading the workshop, Debbie. I'm just off to look up entrelac patterns. The thought of entrelac socks intrigues me ...

Thank you Julie, it was wonderful to have you with us!

Excellent course!

I had wanted to give entrelac a go for awhile, but was a little scared to try it as it looked complicated. Debbie's instructions are really easy to follow and you are guided through this technique at your own pace. She is a very patient and calm tutor, always on hand to help when you've gone off track!

It was a really fun afternoon and now I have a lovely project to finish at home - as well as the confidence to tackle more entrelac projects in the future!

Plus what a lovely environment in which to spend an afternoon of crafting! I love being part of the Wool on the Exe community.

If you're thinking of trying a new knitting or crochet technique - I would definitely recommend going to a course at WOTE!

Thank you Debbie!
